About Art & Frame on Main
Meet Our Staff

Pam, Owner
We’re committed to always being the perfect setting where you can find artful treasures for your home or to give as gifts.
With degrees in Interior Design and Secondary Education from Iowa State, I love bringing art to life in the custom framing department. No matter the subject, from your child’s grade school project to a time-worn family heirloom, I want to final design to bring joy and seem timeless. What I love most are the stories behind the art, and every custom framing project has a story.
Growing up on a farm, studying broadcasting and journalism at Iowa State, and moving 14 times in my adult life has given me a wide range of exposure to different lifestyles!
Furnishing and decorating various homes was always an adventure and a challenge. I learned the art of mixing heirlooms and “finds” to make a house a home. My retail experience helps me think in terms of customer needs and interests. Each time you visit, I hope you’ll experience a burst of vitality because of our ever-changing displays and new works of art.

LaVonne
I feel blessed because my husband, Arlo, joyfully stops with me at all book, art, and antique stores as I pursue my interests. My favorite moment at Art & Frame on Main is when one of our artists carries in new work. As I unwrap each piece, I think about special customers who will appreciate the color or shape or size.
I also love when a man comes in saying, “My wife tells me that anything from here would make her happy!”
Fortunately, I grew up in a family of musicians who enjoyed all forms of art. My personal collection began as I received gifts of prints and pottery for graduations and other significant events. My husband and I purchased all types of art during our years as teachers, and we live surrounded by a still-growing collection. This is why I love to assist new artists when they join our growing roster.
In recent years, I’ve begun assisting Pam in the custom framing department, and have gained tremendous respect for the time, thought, and care that goes into every framing project. (The phrase, “people have no idea” is often tossed back and forth.) We take great pride in what we do.
